Refinery blockade: TotalEnergies agrees to advance salary negotiations to October

The oil company points out that the unions will have to lift the blockades to begin these discussions in October.

The light at the end of the tunnel for motorists? While the CGT announces this Sunday that the strike movement in the main refineries is renewed, TotalEnergies indicates that it offers advance salary negotiations.

The union, which is asking for salary increases of 10%, denounced the “radio silence” of the management, which until then had remained firm in its position: new mandatory salary negotiations will be held, but only on November 15, as agreed with unions during the previous round of negotiations.

“These negotiations will make it possible to define how employees will be able to benefit, before the end of the year, from the exceptional results generated by TotalEnergies, also taking into account inflation for the year 2022. TotalEnergies really wants all employees to receive priority in the distribution of value and receive the just reward for their effort on their payroll before the end of the year”, continues the giant.

“Total can and will do better”

The tanker appears to have sunk under heavy pressure, particularly from the government and many MPs. On BFMTV this Sunday, Aurore Bergé, leader of Renaissance denounced the attitude of the CGT but invited TotalEnergies to review his position.

The movement of grève initié il ya une de jours a été reconduit dimanche chez TotalEnergies et Esso-ExxonMobil, générant des ruptures de stocks d’essence et de diesel en particulier dans les Hauts-de-France et l’Ile-de-France .

The largest refinery of the TotalEnergies group, based in Normandy, that of Feyzin (Rhône), the “biorefinery” of La Mède (Bouches-du-Rhône) and the Flanders fuel depot near Dunkirk (North) are stopped, as made two sites of the American Esso-ExxonMobil in Normandy and Fos-sur-Mer (Bouches-du-Rhône).

In its press release, TotalEnergies recalls that the employees of these refineries have already obtained an average increase of 3.5% in addition to a bonus. “These same employees benefited in 2022 from an average participation in the results of the company of 9,108 euros, with a minimum amount of 7,250 euros. Thus, the average monthly remuneration of a TotalEnergies refinery operator in France in 2022 is 5,000 euros per month, profit sharing included (4,300 euros per month without profit sharing).
