If you have prepared a cup of Puro Arabica Brasil coffee from the Repère Plantation brand by E.Leclerc, it is best to throw it away immediately (and wash the cup well).
In fact, the product is the subject of a national recall, according to the government website Rappel Conso. The product may contain mycotoxins of the ochratoxin A type, substances produced by fungi (mold) that sometimes develop on plant products and cause a health risk in case of significant and repeated consumption.
Lots sold between August 25 and October 18.
According to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the tolerable weekly intake (TWI) for this mycotoxin is 120 ng per kg of body weight, or 0.0084 mg per week for a person weighing 70 kg. Currently, the weekly exposure of the general population varies between 15 and 60 ng per kg of body weight according to EASA.
The lots affected by the recall are 250g sachets, marketed between August 25 and October 18 of this year.
The product must no longer be consumed and must be returned to the point of sale where it will be refunded.
