The confrontation between the management of TotalEnergies and the CGT continues. In a press release, the oil group announces “a consultation and exchange meeting tomorrow afternoon.”
Requisition of Esso-Exxonmobil personnel
The Ministry of Ecological Transition revealed this Tuesday that 31.3% of service stations are dry or experiencing shortages of certain fuels nationwide. The strike now extends to the TotalEnergies de Donges refinery in Loire Atlantique, which has decided to react to Elisabeth Borne’s decision.
In fact, the Prime Minister has decided the requisition of personnel for the unlocking of fuel tanks of the Esso-Exxonmobil group. On the other hand, the employees of the TotalEnergies refineries, also on strike, are for the moment unscathed.
This measure, as rare as it is radical, was already applied in France in 2010 for the same refinery employees. That year, France was paralyzed by strikes against pension reform.
