The 22 member states of the European Space Agency (ESA) agreed to provide “financial support” to ensure the economic viability and competitiveness of the Ariane 6 rocket, strategic for Europe’s autonomous access to space, announced its director general Joseph Aschbacher.
This agreement includes an annual subsidy, the amount of which Joseph Aschbacher has not revealed, to finance the financial balance of the rocket from its 16th to 42nd flight, corresponding to the launches planned from 2026 to 2030. The financial balance of the first 15 flights was already guaranteed by a previous agreement.
