Having not had the opportunity to give him an assist on the field, basketball fans can now invest alongside Tony Parker. The former star of the French national team and the San Antonio Spurs acquired Château Noël Saint-Laurent at the end of 2022, near Avignon, where he cultivates 40 hectares of vineyards. A wine estate now open to crowdfunding.
The operation is carried out through Bricks, a French online participatory investment platform, created in 2021 in Montpellier and specialized in real estate investment projects. Tony Parker himself invested in the startup. The entrance fee, set at 10 euros, “allows as many people as possible to participate in writing the history of an exceptional heritage,” says the press release published this Tuesday.
A basketball player turned investor
In addition to his role as president and majority shareholder of the Asvel (Villeurbanne) basketball club, Tony Parker has multiplied real estate investment projects since the end of his sports career, as has Michael Johnson, who recently became a multimillionaire thanks to this strategy: in the Villard-de-Lans Corrençon-en-Vercors ski area, with NorthRock Partners, a wealth management consulting company, or even joining the board of directors of Colizey, a marketplace dedicated to sports brands.
More recently, it was wine that caught the attention of the four-time NBA champion. Tony Parker thus joined forces with Michel Reybier, owner of Château La Mascaronne in Var, before purchasing the Saint-Laurent estate, in Morières-lès-Avignon, in Vaucluse. This 14th century building is surrounded by “40 hectares of Côtes-du-Rhône vineyards, composed mainly of Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault, Viognier and Roussanne”, specifies the Revue des vins de France.
The first harvest of the Parker era took place last year and resulted in a production of 3,000 bottles. “For the white, a blend was made with Viognier and Roussanne, while the red blend includes Syrah, Cinsault and Grenache,” details the Revue des vins de France.
A private event for 300 investors
It is in this real estate and wine project where Tony Parker now offers the general public to invest. With a special bonus for 300 investors among those who will participate in the financing of the project: they will be invited to an exclusive event organized by Tony Parker himself.
On the program of the private event organized for the 300 lucky ones: “a private visit to the castle, a behind-the-scenes discovery of the wine estate, a tasting of the wines produced on site and a special moment of exchange with the star, who will share his love for basketball and wine.
