Airbus will eliminate 750 jobs in its defense and space division

According to union sources, Airbus could cut 2% of its workforce in the Airbus Defense and Space division, which employed 34,330 people, by the end of 2022.

Airbus is looking to cut 750 positions in its Defense and Space division as part of a reorganization, union sources said, or about 2% of its workforce.

This reorganization should not lead to layoffs, but rather a reduction in hiring over the next two years, union sources said.

A spokesman for the world’s largest aircraft maker confirmed to Reuters the goal of cutting 750 jobs, adding that this would not lead to an overall reduction in the workforce “as long as our business is growing.” Airbus’ Defense and Space division employed 34,330 people at the end of 2022.
