Price negotiations between doctors and Social Security will resume on November 15

Conventional negotiations between private doctors and Health Insurance, which ended in failure, will officially resume on November 15.

Conventional negotiations between private doctors and Health Insurance, highly anticipated after a first round that ended in failure, will officially resume on November 15, the unions learned.

These negotiations broke down at the end of last February, giving rise to a controversial arbitration agreement, according to which consultations were increased, on November 1, by 1.50 euros compared to the previous prices dating back to 2017.

With headwinds of this sum considered “ridiculous”, and with a bill currently being studied in Parliament that they consider coercive, doctors carried out numerous strikes on October 13, following the call of all representative unions for a strike ” renewable”.

Go further in terms of remuneration

The movement was finally “suspended” on October 17, a few hours after the official restart of negotiations by Health Minister Aurélien Rousseau. Several union representatives found their framework letter encouraging, which promises to go further on remuneration.

Following a vote by the Council of the Union of Health Insurance Funds, which approved the guidelines proposed by the Government, negotiations can begin.

The first meeting will take place on November 15 starting at 3:30 p.m., Philippe Cuq, president of the Bloc (surgeons’ union) and spokesperson for the inter-union during the strike, told AFP. He declined to comment before this meeting.

This “multilateral” meeting will bring together in the National Health Insurance Fund all the unions representing general practitioners and private specialists (Avenir Spé-Le Bloc, MG France, CSMF, FMF, SML and UFML-S), CSMF president Franck Devulder told AFP.
