This announcement was made during the presentation of the new right-wing government that will, for the first time, have the support of the extreme right in Parliament.
Sweden will build new nuclear reactors to meet growing demand for electricity, one of the leaders of the new governing coalition announced on Friday.
“New nuclear reactors will be built,” said the leader of the Christian Democratic Party, Ebba Busch, during the presentation of the new right-wing government that will, for the first time, have the support of the extreme right in Parliament.
In recent years, the Scandinavian kingdom has shut down six of its 12 reactors.
Those that are still in operation produce about 30% of the electricity used in the country today.
