French SMEs have their eyes on October 31. This is the deadline for them to benefit next year from a reduced rate on part of the price of their electricity through the Arenh system (Regulated Access to Historical Nuclear Electricity). Problem: The executive has been advising them for several weeks to delay before renewing their contract.
“Every day I get calls from SMEs who no longer know what to do because our President of the Republic told them ‘wait, something could happen, don’t sign’ a few weeks ago, explained Frank Roubanovitch, president of the Liaison Committee of companies that have exercised their eligibility in the free electricity market (CLEEE) on the set of Good Morning Business We have a restriction that is October 31, we are not the ones who invented it […] But to benefit from this Arenh in 2023, our contracts must be signed before October 31 in the case of SMEs.
A complex negotiation at European level
Frank Roubanovitch expected a lot from the meeting of all professional sectors with Bruno Le Maire on the subject of energy on Thursday morning.
Frank Roubanovitch, in particular, of France’s ability to achieve a European cap on the price of gas used to produce electricity. “Bruno Le Maire told us that the Germans and the Dutch do not agree, reports the president of CLEEE. I wonder about solidarity in this case…”
