In 2022, collective bargaining experienced “very strong dynamics”

The dynamism is “driven by salary agreements” with an increase of 83% in 2022, but is also reflected in professional equality (+68%) and issues linked to bonuses (+62%).

Collective bargaining registered a “very strong dynamic” in 2022 both at the branch and company level, particularly in terms of salaries in a context of high inflation, according to the annual report of the General Directorate of Labor (DGT) made public on Friday. . The results are marked “by a very strong dynamic that already began last year, but that will reach a very significant level in 2022, in particular in the negotiation of salaries both at the branch level and at the company level,” stressed the director. Labor general, Pierre Ramain, during a press conference.

An “unmatched level” of agreements signed at the end of sectoral negotiations

Regarding sectoral negotiations, Pierre Ramain reported an “unmatched level”: 1,495 agreements were signed (+40% compared to 2021, already a year of recovery after the Covid-19 health crisis). The dynamism is “driven by salary agreements,” explained the General Director of Labor, with an increase of 83% in 2022. But it is also reflected in professional equality (+68%) and issues linked to bonuses (+62 %).

This dynamic is also observed in business negotiation, with 88,570 agreements concluded in 2022 (+15% compared to 2021). “Like the negotiation between branches, this is a level that has never been reached,” says Pierre Ramain. Negotiations on employee savings continue to take first place (44.2%), but this time ahead of salaries (22.4%), while working time normally takes second place in agreements. For companies with less than 50 employees, the increase is 17% (33,010 agreements), once again reaching “an unprecedented level.”
