Recall of new products linked to Listeria bacteria. Carrefour has just started a recall procedure for a Simpl brand mixed salad sold in 200 gram sachets. The marketing period of the product extended from November 14 to 24 and the scope of sale was the network of Carrefour stores throughout France.
On the government’s “Conso Recall” website, the sheet states that the reason for the recall is exceeding the regulatory threshold in the Listeria monocytogenes criterion. This is the bacteria responsible for listeriosis and has been found in several products, especially dairy products, in recent years. “Listeria is a disease that can be serious and has an incubation period of up to eight weeks,” recalls Carrefour.
Fever accompanied by headache and body aches.
The large distribution group advises customers who have purchased this product not to consume it anymore, not use it anymore and destroy it. As for people who have consumed this mixed salad and have fever and possibly headaches or body aches, they are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption. “Sometimes severe forms with neurological complications and maternal or fetal damage can also appear in pregnant women, adds Carrefour. Both pregnant women and immunosuppressed people and the elderly should be especially attentive to these symptoms.”
Carrefour specifies that the compensation conditions will consist of a refund. While waiting for the withdrawal procedure to be completed in fifteen days, customers can contact the company’s consumer service from Monday to Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following number: 0 805 900 022.
