The average weekly price of diesel increased by 4.4% and gasoline by 3.9%

The average weekly fuel price, calculated by the Regulatory Authority for Energy Services (ERSE), is up 4.4% for diesel and 3.9% for gasoline this week, according to a report released by the entity this Monday.

According to information from the Weekly Sales Price Supervision Report, published by ERSE this Monday, “For the week of October 17 to October 23, the Efficient Price before tax is 1.062 Euro/l [euros por litro] for regular petrol 95 and 1,313 euro/l for ordinary diesel”, and “after tax the efficient price is 1,923 euro/l and 2,025 euro/l respectively, for ordinary petrol 95 and for normal diesel”.

So “Efficient Price registered an update, compared to last week, of +3.9% for petrol and of +4.4% for diesel, taking into account the weekly variation of international prices for simple petrol, at +7.8 %, and from simple diesel, by +7.2%,” he emphasized.

the efficient price is an average weekly price determined by ERSE and is the result of the sum of the following components: fuel prices in the international reference markets and the respective maritime freights, primary logistics, including in this part the strategic and security reserves of the National Petroleum System , the additional costs of incorporating biofuels and the retail component plus the respective taxes”according to ERSE.

At the same time, according to the document, “in relation to the previous week” [10 a 16 de outubro] it was found that the average of the public sale prices announced on the porches and displayed on the Balcão Único da Energia was 4.2 cents/l [cêntimos por litro] above this week’s Efficient Price, in the case of regular 95 gasoline, and 1.6 cents/l, above that in the case of regular diesel.”

So “as a percentage, simple 95 gasoline was announced on the portals 2.2% above the efficient price and simple diesel was announced 0.8% above the efficient price,” he said.

The entity stressed that, “still compared to the previous week”, with regard to discounted prices, its average prices published by the Directorate-General for Energy and Geology (DGEG), “simple 95 gasoline showed a deviation of -0 .3% compared to the Efficient Price and -2.9% for simple diesel”.

ERSE concluded that “in absolute terms these estimates for regular gasoline are -0.6 cents/l and for regular diesel -5.4 cents/l below the respective Efficient Prices”.
