Bernard Arnault’s private jet is off the radar. For a few weeks, the popular Instragam account @laviondebernard stopped sharing his map images in which we could see the trips that the French billionaire made aboard his private jet.
Created in May, this account became very popular this summer at the time of the controversy over private jet flights. He currently has more than 87,000 followers.
On September 10, the account announced the end of tracking the LVMH chief’s flights.
“i rent planes”
For a few days, we know the answer. On Radio Classique, Bernard Arnault announced that his LVMH group had sold his Bombardier Global Express jet for an estimated €48 million.
The leaders of the French luxury group will continue to travel by private plane but will no longer be able to be followed on social networks. For Antoine Arnault, son of the billionaire and administrator of LVMH, it is also a question of corporate confidentiality.
Although the controversies over private jets have multiplied in recent months, some personalities have expressed their annoyance at the tracking of their movements. Like Elon Musk, the boss of Tesla, offered $5,000 to a 19-year-old American to bury the @ElonJet account followed by more than 486,000 people on Twitter.
In other parts of the world, governments have made it clear that these technologies and this type of data are not welcome.
Chinese state media reported in 2021 that the government had seized hundreds of receivers used by real-time flight tracking sites, alleging an “espionage” risk.
