The strike resumed on Saturday morning at the Feyzin fuel depot in the Rhône, said the CGT, which identified 90% of the strikers in the services responsible for deliveries. “The strike restarted this [samedi] tomorrow, until Monday”, shipments being closed on Sundays, said Pedro Alfonso, union delegate of the CGT.
Between 120 and 130 employees are on strike, representing 90% of the shipping department and the Vemu (energy, movement and utilities) department where the movement is concentrated, he added. Six staff members, strikers or casual workers, were seized this Saturday, according to him.
Employees will be invited to vote on continuing the move on Monday.
The strike also continues at the Norman site of Gonfreville.
Service stations are facing significant supply difficulties due to this strike movement launched on September 27 at TotalEnergies refineries and warehouses, although an improvement has been observed in recent days. According to the government, 13% of stations had diesel or gasoline shortages on Friday night, up from 16.9% the day before. Employees demand a salary increase in the face of inflation and the gigantic profits reaped by the oil group.
The government has requisitioned workers at several sites and work has resumed at several TotalEnergies refineries and fuel depots, following a deal brokered last week between two unions and management. The CGT has not signed this agreement and two sites continue their strike, in Normandy and Feyzin.
