Why was “La Voix” by Secret Story played this morning on the Paris metro?

Metro and RER users were surprised to hear quite original sound announcements at the station and on board the trains. Explanations.

Change of tone in the RATP? Generally, sound announcements in the metro or RER are made to announce breakdowns on the lines or information messages. But this Thursday, March 28, users were surprised to hear “La Voix” from the famous reality show “Secret Story” broadcast on TF1.

These sound announcements broadcast every 20 minutes were heard at Lyon, Nation, Auber station or even Châtelet, but also on trains on lines 1 and 4 when passing through certain stations.

Many Internet users have been moved on Twitter by these ads, compared to the disguised ads, since we can hear: “La Voix see you very soon for the return of Secret Story.”.

An association without a commercial aspect

Contacted, the RATP refused to talk about advertising and indicated that “it did not receive any payment for this operation.”

Because the message above all confers a “mission” on travelers, that of “monitoring” their luggage on board and “remaining attentive to those often forgotten suitcases that disrupt their trips”, with forgotten luggage being “a scourge” according to management. which causes numerous stops on the lines.

The management explains to us that the objective is to “raise travelers’ awareness about forgotten luggage by attracting them in a unique and fun way” and wanting to “stand out and offer differentiating formats to their travelers.”

“Some time ago, for example, sound advertisements were broadcast with children’s voices,” they tell us.

TF1 also explains to us that this is a non-commercial association proposed by Endemol, the producer of Secret Story and validated by the RATP.
