If the majority is divided on the tax issue, at Bercy we remain inflexible. Deficits should not be covered by tax increases.
This was recalled once again by Bruno Le Maire during his visit to the Renault factory in Sandouville (Seine-Maritime) in the company of the head of Renault, Luca De Meo, and the mayor of Le Havre, Edouard Philippe. Promoting France’s industrial renewal, the Minister of Economy asked that this dynamic not be disturbed.
Bruno Le Maire, who wants to continue on the path of tax cuts for companies, including the complete elimination of the CVAE in 2027, wants to reassure investors.
No capital tax increase
The minister also dismisses any suggestion of increasing capital taxes. Bercy will not modify the single flat rate rate (PFU) established in 2018 to reduce taxation on capital income, which since then is no longer subject to the progressive income tax.
The Renault group has set the goal of having 10% salaried shareholders by 2030 in all Renault industrial centers, compared to 4.7% in 2023.
