The British fund Greybull Capital, the last candidate in the race, will take over the bankrupt steel group Ascometal, which will thus avoid liquidation, the Commercial Division of the Strasbourg Court of Justice learned on Monday.
The acquisition covers all of Ascometal’s sites, namely its Hagondange steelworks (Moselle) and its three machining and finishing plants, in Custines (Meurthe and Moselle), Saint-Étienne (in the Marais district) and Leffrinckoucke (North), i.e. nearly 800 jobs.
