Who will be the new leader of EDF? Although Jean-Bernard Lévy will soon step down, the succession is proving difficult. The government has been working for several months on behalf of the future head of the company. Guest this Tuesday morning on BFMTV-RMC, the Minister of Economy, Bruno Le Maire, assured that Élisabeth Borne and Emmanuel Macron will decide “in the next few days who will lead EDF”.
“Producing more carbon-free energy must be the challenge of the coming decades. For that, a boss is needed for EDF, which is a magnificent public service with agents of immense quality, technicians, employees, workers, engineers.” […] who deserve the best”, declared Bruno Le Maire, who wants to find “the best possible direction” for the group.
Some refused the offer
Among the names that have been circulating in recent days, we find in particular Luc Rémont, who currently oversees Schneider’s international activities at the international level: former adviser to Bercy in the government of Dominique de Villepin, when Bruno Le Maire was his boss cabinet, had worked on the IPO of EDF.
Several leaders have already rejected the State’s proposals, such as Henri Poupart-Lafarge, current head of Alstom and Stéphane Michel, who leads the gas and renewable energy branch at TotalEnergies, or even Benoit Ribadeau-Dumas, former director of Zodiac and former head of staff by Edward Philippe.
