The president of the National Assembly’s Finance Committee, Eric Coquerel (LFI), and the rapporteur-general Charles de Courson (Liot) declared themselves “angry” after leaving Matignon empty-handed on Tuesday, where they had gone to demand key documents of the 2025 budget proposal.
“We are quite stunned (…) because we were denied access to these documents,” said Bruno Coquerel as he left Matignon, about half an hour after his arrival. “It is a constitutional right granted to the president of the Finance Committee and the general rapporteur of the budget, but we have been denied it,” he added, accusing President Emmanuel Macron of “endangering democracy.”
