Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced at noon on Wednesday the resumption of grain exports from Ukraine through the Black Sea humanitarian corridor.
“After the meeting with (Russian President Vladimir) Putin yesterday, grain shipments will continue from noon today as planned,” the leader said.
Guarantee
Later, the Russian military confirmed that the country is resuming its participation in the agreement on Ukraine’s grain exports after receiving “written guarantees” from Ukraine on the demilitarization of the corridor used for its transportation.
“Russia considers that the guarantees received so far seem sufficient and is resuming the implementation of the agreement,” the Russian Defense Ministry said on Telegram.
Russia had suspended its participation in this agreement on Saturday by denouncing drone attacks against its ships in Sevastopol, in annexed Crimea.
