While waiting for the Allies’ permission to use long-range American, British or French missiles to bomb these targets in Russia, Ukraine is continuing its offensives on Russian territory.
A Ukrainian security source told AFP that a drone attack was carried out last night in Toropets, in western Russia. These remotely operated munitions are believed to have “destroyed” a weapons depot where numerous munitions were stored, including ballistic missiles and guided aerial bombs.
An indestructible warehouse
This offensive undermines the Russian military, which claimed that this strategic arsenal was indestructible. On the Russian channel Tsargrad, the former Russian Deputy Minister of Defense, Army General Dmitry Bulgakov, presented it as capable of resisting air strikes, missiles and even nuclear attacks. This officer was behind the construction of these warehouses in 2018.
According to videos posted on the Avia-Pro website, Ukrainian drones caused a massive fire and a series of explosions. These images have not yet been verified by OSINT experts on social media.
As Reuters reports, US satellites detected several sources emanating from the site in the early hours of Wednesday. Separately, earthquake monitoring stations detected what sensors thought was a minor quake in the area.
