Three unions (CGT, CFDT, Sud) of Samu social are calling for a day of strike on Thursday to denounce “unworthy” working conditions, demand a wage increase and the payment of the “Ségur bonus”.
A rally is planned for 9:30 a.m. in front of the organization’s headquarters in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, before a new day of mobilization on September 26, Jordan Bernard, general secretary of the CGT Samu social 75, told AFP.
“There is a widespread dissatisfaction with working conditions, we are not informed about workplace accidents, we have fewer and fewer staff, people can’t take it anymore,” he stressed, considering that these working conditions “affect the quality” of the service provided to the most vulnerable.”
Salary increase, introduction of a thirteenth month and extension of the Ségur bonus
The demands include a 10% pay rise, the establishment of a 13th month and the extension of the “Ségur bonus” of 183 euros net per month “to all agents”. Contacted by AFP, the management of Samu Social did not immediately respond.
Created in 1993 by Dr. Xavier Emmanuelli, the Paris-based Samu social group is responsible, among other things, for helping homeless people and people in extreme need, and directing them to accommodation via the emergency number 115. The Paris-based organisation also manages accommodation centres and has beds for healthcare (LHSS) as well as beds for medical reception (LAM).
