The US unemployment rate rose slightly in October to 3.7%

While the Fed’s continued policy of raising key rates poses the threat of a recession, the US economy has seen its unemployment rate rise faster than expected over the past month.

The unemployment rate rose slightly in October in the United States, to 3.7%, while job creation maintained the same rate as the previous month, in a context where the fight against inflation implies a slowdown in the labor market.

The increase is slightly higher than expected, analysts expected an unemployment rate of 3.6%, but only anticipated the creation of 220,000 jobs. But the US economy ultimately added 261,000 jobs last month, particularly in healthcare, technical services and manufacturing.
