After the elimination of the conversion bonus, after the reduction of the electricity bonus, Urssaf now intervenes:
Starting January 1, owners of electric vehicles will soon no longer be able to charge them for free at their workplace… You’ll have to pay!
This “benefit in kind” will be subject to tax regulations. Employers and employees will have to pay! On employer contributions, on the one hand, and on tax returns, on the other.
URSSAF explains that this decision is part of a logic of fiscal equity, stating that all benefits granted by an employer must be subject to uniform treatment. This system was introduced in 2020 to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles, particularly given the expansion of Low Emission Zones (LEZ) in urban areas.
And now that people have gotten into this: bam, we close the doors of the pen and let the fiscal wolf loose to devour everyone.
It is as scandalous as the 14,000 euros in compensation that Urssaf had requested from this restaurateur because he ate in his establishment at lunchtime; based on the average price in their restaurant which was 107 euros.
Gérald Darmanin, then responsible for the budget, denounced an absurd situation. Ask Laurent Saint-Martin, his distant successor: does it seem normal to him?
