In one year, the increase is 2.2%, or 445,000 jobs. At the end of September 2022, employment exceeded its pre-health crisis level, at the end of 2019, by 4.3%, or 856,800 jobs. “Study and work contracts, and in particular apprenticeship contracts, continue to contribute significantly to this dynamic,” explains the Institute of Statistics. Employment driven by the tertiary sector

Excluding temporary work, industrial employment increased by 0.4% compared to +0.3% in the previous quarter. “While it had reached its pre-crisis level in Q2 2022, it is now 0.4% higher (i.e. +12,900 jobs) and is at its highest level since Q1 of 2015”, emphasizes the INSEE.

In construction, employment remained practically stable: +0.1% after stagnating (0.0%) in the previous quarter. However, it had increased significantly in the previous two years, so that it exceeded its level at the end of 2019 by 6.4% (+94,500 jobs) 0.5% after +0.8% (ie +60,400 jobs). “This dynamism explains most of the total increase in private salaried employment,” underlines the INSEE.
