Average sales price to the public (PMVP) of bottled butane gas rose 19.5% year over year to EUR 2,433 per kilogram (EUR/kg) in the third quarter, while bulk propane increased 34.7% to EUR 2,308 /kg .
According to data from the Portuguese Association of Oil Companies (Apetro), released this Tuesday in the third quarter, “compared to the same quarter of the previous year, there was a price increase of 39.7 cents/kg (+19.5%) )”, for butane in bottles, from 2,036 Euros/kg (Euros per kilogram) to 2,433 Euros/kg.
Compared to the previous quarter, however, there was a decrease of 20.2 cents/kg (-7.7%).
“It is concluded that in the third quarter of 2022, the main factor for the decline in the PMVP of bottled butane compared to the previous quarter was the price decrease (-20.7 cents/kg), reflecting the increase in average costs. absorbed from Warehousing Distribution and Marketing (+4.2 cents/kg).VAT decreased by 3.8 cents/kg due to the drop in PMVP,” said Apetro.
The PMVP of bulk propane, a cylinder liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) delivery system, increased by 59.5 cents/kg (+34.7%), compared to the same quarter last year, from 1,713 euros/kg to 2,308 euros /kg.
Compared to the previous quarter, bulk propane decreased by 1.7 cents/kg (-0.7%).
It appears that the main factor “for the decline in the PMVP of bulk propane in the third quarter of 2022 was the price decrease (-3.4 cents/kg), which absorbed the increase in the average costs of storage, distribution and marketing ( +2.0 cents/kg).VAT decreased by 0.3 cents/kg due to the drop in PMVP,” said the oil companies’ association.
During the reporting period, warehousing, distribution and marketing (ADC) costs increased by 4.2 cents/kg and 2.0 cents/kg, respectively.
