Tesla recalls nearly 700,000 vehicles due to tire pressure monitoring issue

Tesla indicated this Friday the need to recall nearly 700,000 of its electric vehicles in the United States to correct a tire pressure control problem.

Tesla announced this Friday, December 20, the recall of 694,304 vehicles in the United States in order to correct an error with the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

According to the Elon Musk-led automaker, the TPMS warning light indicating low tire pressure may not come on while driving. A problem that logically increases the risk of accident, the brand specifies.

The issue was observed on Model 3, Model Y and Cybertruck range vehicles and affected customers should receive a letter from February 15. The issue should be resolved with a free software update.

According to the American vehicle recall management company BizzyCar, Tesla models represented 21% of all recalls in the country during the first three half of 2024.
