Gabriel Attal deplores the “zero empathy” of the RATP strikers for the French

Guest on RMC and BFMTV, the Delegate Minister in Charge of Public Accounts defended the action of the employer State and public companies to support the remuneration of employees and officials in the face of inflation.

Parisian public transport was severely affected this Thursday morning due to a strike at the call of all RATP unions for wage increases and better working conditions. A situation deplored by Gabriel Attal on RMC and BFMTV:

“I heard that the slogan was ‘zero meter and zero river’, I will expand by saying that it is also ‘zero empathy’ for all the French people I think of today, who have not been able to go to work, who have not been able to move, who can having had difficulty leaving the children at school…”, reacted the Delegate Minister in charge of Public Accounts, but “there is a strike movement, it is a constitutional right”, he added.

Increase in the index point of officials: “a historic decision”, according to Attal

If he said he was aware of the “difficult situation” that “affects all French people” due to inflation, Gabriel Attal recalled that public companies “have decided on salary increases (…), in this case a little more than 5% in the RATP” by 2022.

In the civil service, where the agents are also called to strike by the CGT, the Government “made a historic decision this summer with an index point rise of 3.5%. You have to go back very, very far to find such an increase “recalled the Minister. It is not enough to offset inflation, which should average more than 5% in all of 2022.
