Gabriel Attal: “We can’t do everything with public finances”

The Delegate Minister of Public Accounts insisted on the importance of “keeping the accounts” in order not to let the debt escape and to be able to continue supporting the French who need it most.

Guest on RMC and BFMTV this Thursday, Gabriel Attal defended the government’s desire to curb spending while the left-wing opposition calls for more state support to support households and businesses against inflation.

“Otherwise our debt will cost us so much”

He ministered to him that “the reality is that in a situation of public finances that is tending and that absolutely will continue to keep us accountable, but not dette nous coûtera tellement cher qu’on ne pourra plus rien faire No way”.

In case of slippage, “we will no longer be able to increase wages in the public service. We will no longer be able to help the French reduce their gas and electricity bills because the weight of our debt will be so high that we will spend everything we have to return it. This is not the situation I want for my country,” the minister said.
