The shared value bonus, known as the “Macron bonus”, has benefited more than 700,000 employees with an average amount of more than 710 euros since its continuation this summer, Bruno Le Maire said on Thursday.
The exceptional purchasing power bonus, introduced in 2019 and renewed every year since then, was renamed last August Value Distribution Bonus (PPV) with a tripling of its ceiling to 6,000 euros under the seizure law.
During the following two months, 730,000 employees received this “Macron bonus” for an average amount of more than 710 euros, the ministry told AFP, underlining a positive dynamic.
In total, this tax-free, employer-optional bonus has affected more than 10 million employees, but the government also wants to expand other value-sharing mechanisms, particularly profit- and profit-sharing mechanisms.
Wholesale prices fall
The social partners met on Tuesday to set a timetable for their negotiations on the issue amid a debate on the issue of pay. They have until the end of January to make proposals to the government.
According to Bruno Le Maire, there is currently a fall in wholesale prices that should have an impact “during 2023” on consumer prices and thus allow inflation to come down.
The next few weeks “will continue to be difficult,” he warned, saying that the State, however, assumed 55% of the cost of inflation against 40% of companies and 5% of households.
He then approached the mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo (PS) who decided to increase the property tax by 52% and denounces the lack of financial support from the State to the cities since the health crisis. “It is the dire management of Paris that explains” this increase, declared Bruno Le Maire, lashing out at Anne Hidalgo’s attacks.
