“This notice should serve as a warning to our management,” according to a union brochure released Tuesday. “If this warning is ignored, only a strong mobilization can tip the balance.”
Asked by AFP, Air France did not react on Wednesday to the threat of a social movement that could weigh down the holiday period at the end of the year, crucial for the aviation sector that is slowly recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.
UNAC and SNGAF denounce the absence of a contract that extends the collective agreement beyond its period of validity for the time of the social negotiations and sanction a “pure and simple step in force” by a “management note”.
“Volume Up”
“Being at the mercy of a management that, with a stroke of the pen, can modify everything related to our profession at will is unacceptable,” write the unions.
They ask for a “temporary contractual solution to replace the collective agreement” of the crews “during the negotiation” and “no unilateral measures”, in a letter to the management dated November 14 and published on the unions’ website.
“If this warning is ignored, only a strong mobilization can tip the balance, so that we can recover the contractualization of our working conditions. We are facing a management that unfortunately only understands the balance of power, even for it to run the risk of degrading the activity in such an important period as the end of the year festivities”, they continue.
