Semiconductors, smartphones, computers: Trump administration finally announces customs duties “in a month or two”

The American Secretary of Commerce, Howard Lunick, said on Sunday, April 13 that smartphones and computers that were exempt from customs tasks imposed by the United States in China, ultimately, would be subject to different customs tasks that will be established in approximately one month.

Customs duties will be applied in “one month or two” in semiconductors, a sector at the moment saved by 10% surcharge against most of the United States commercial partners, said United States Secretary of Commerce on Sunday, April 13. Smart phones and computers will also be included in these new aggressive commercial measures.

These customs tasks “are not included in reciprocal customs tasks” and will probably be established “in two or two,” said Howard Lungick on the ABC channel, while the United States is in the middle of the commercial war with China.
