The SNCF has planned to pass over nine out of ten TGV in France during the first day of the controller strike on Friday and promised to allow all its clients whose train to be canceled to reserve another the same day, at no cost.
About 60% of the bosses said on the TGV on Friday. However, the SNCF said “that all travelers can travel the day scheduled for their destination.”
The South-Rail Union and a collective of controllers called National Asct Collective (CNA) requested a strike on May 9, 10 and 11 to claim an increase in their work bonus and a better anticipation of the schedules, too frequently modified in the last minute according to them.
A reserve of volunteers
According to the public group management, the attack rate must exceed 60% on Saturday, before a return to Friday on Sunday. Throughout the weekend, management provides normal 96% traffic in TGVs.
Most trains can be executed thanks to the deployment of volunteers, company executives, who have received special training for a day to replace surprising controllers in trains.
SNCF Travelers has also promised to offer everyone whose train has been canceled a 50% reduction coupon on its next trip.
Normal Ter Rate
Regional trains, which can circulate without headwaters on the board, will normally mount them on Friday and Saturday, as well as the interity trains. The SNCF ile -of -France (Transilien) network, which includes several RER lines or portions, must also experience normal traffic, SNCF said.
The CGT-CHEMINOTS, the first union organization in the SNCF, has already planned a continuation of the mobilization in June. The organization launched on Wednesday a strike call on June 4 for drivers, outside a round table dedicated to the premium from which they benefit, on June 5 for all categories of railway workers, with claims on wages or the improvement of working conditions, and on June 11 for the controllers.
Earlier this week, a driver controller in the so-called CGT-CHEMINOTS caused interruption in regional lines in several regions, such as Hauts-de-France or Ile-de-France.
According to SNCF travelers, “approximately nine out of ten smooth ones will have circulated in France (during this strike), and around eight trans lines (Parisian suburbs) in ten, with disparities according to the regions or lines.”
On Wednesday, Sud Rail claimed 40% of strike drivers throughout the country and up to one in two regional trains canceled in Ile-de-France.
