Air Force One: The new presidential planes finally delivered by Boeing in 2027?

While Donald Trump has expressed his discontent repeatedly about the delay in the presidential aircraft program, Boeing could deliver the devices earlier than announced.

New episode of the soap opera of the presidential aircraft of Air Force One: The devices could be delivered in 2027, according to the interim acquisition director within the United States Air Force, Darlene Costello, auditioned by the commission of the Armed Forces of the House of Representatives.

“It would not necessarily guarantee this date, but propose to present it in 2027, if we manage to agree on the modifications that will be made according to the requirements,” said Darlene Costello.

Until now, the delivery of the two modified Boeing 747 was scheduled as soon as possible in 2027-2028 in the place of 2024, as indicated by the initial calendar. A delay for which Boeing already has an additional cost of 2.5 billion dollars, says CNN.

To advance faster, certain limitations could be relaxed, such as authorization requirements for people working in plans, a procedure that has significantly slowed down the site.

Unhappy with the delays in the program, Donald Trump said he was ready last February to consider the possibility of a “temporary” solution, a 747-8 VIP that belonged to the Royal Qatari family. The Wall Street Journal recently revealed that a modification contract to the US team supplier L3harris would have been granted.

The two current presidential planes, of the 747-200 VC-25A, were put into service in the 1990s.
