The American Federal Reserve (FED) will reduce its workforce by around 10%”in the coming years to improve the” efficiency “of the institution, announced its president in an internal letter consulted this Friday, May 16 by AFP.
“The experience acquired here and another place shows that it is healthy for any organization to take a look at its equipment and resources,” wrote the president of the US Central Bank Jerome Powell in this note, at a time when Trump’s government is leading the clear cuts in the federal administration.
The Fed used 23,950 people in all the United States in 2023, according to their latest annual report.
