Qatar will export LNG from the expansion of the world’s largest gas field since the summer of 2026

“Great relationship with China”

Qatar is one of the main gas producers in the world in the United States, Australia and Russia. Asian countries, led by China, Japan and South Korea, were the main Qatar gas market, but demand has also increased by European countries since the war between Russia and Ukraine questioned.

In recent years, Qatar has concluded other long -term LNG agreements with Totalgies, British shell, Indian Petronet and the Italian ENI, many of which have a record duration of 27 years. Saad Al-Kaabi emphasized that Qatar had a “great relationship with China.” The first GNL agreement was signed with the Chinese group Sinopec in 2022.

At the time of the start of work in the North Field project in October 2023, Qatar Energy indicated that the expansion LNG should begin to be available since 2026.
