“Expensive and unpleasant”: Donald Trump recommends in the United Kingdom stop installing wind turbines and favoring oil

The US president says that the United Kingdom still has large oil reserves in the North Sea that would reduce energy costs.

Donald Trump was recommended “strongly” this Friday, May 23 in the United Kingdom this Friday, May 23 to stop installing wind turbines and promoting more oil drilling in the North Sea, 15 days after the announcement of a commercial agreement between Washington and London.

“The agreement we have negotiated with the United Kingdom is going very well for everyone,” said Donald Trump in his social social network. “However, I recommend them to reduce the costs of your energy, to stop (building) expensive and antistnetic wind turbines,” added the republican leader, a great contempt for renewable energies and the supporter of the recovery of oil exploitation.

There is still oil “for a century of drilling, with Aberdeen for Epicenter,” he still assured the US president, to evoke the city of Eastern Scotland, a rear base of oil platforms on the high seas, and where his family also has a golf complex.

“The United Kingdom’s energy costs would fall a lot and quickly”

“Contrary to what Trump (Donald) says, there are relatively small amounts of oil and gas in the North Sea,” said Sugandha Srivastav, an environmental economy researcher at the Smith school in Enterprise and the environment of the University of Oxford (United Kingdom).

For Donald Trump, “the endless (British) tax system discourages wells,” while the opposite was true, “the United Kingdom’s energy costs would fall a lot and quickly.”

“The cost of wind energy remains significantly lower than gas,” he adds to the researcher, according to which “investing in solar energy” or “wind” remains “the best way to reduce our invoices.”

London and Washington announced on May 8 a “historical” commercial agreement that allows the United Kingdom to escape most of the US surcharge in their cars and opens the British market more to US agricultural products. A source of the British government had told AFP that it was not a complete free trade agreement between the two historical allies, but a “general conditions document” that establishes commitments, as well as a framework for in -depth discussions later.
