The taxi drivers have decided to extend their mobilization and not exclude new actions for Tuesday, the date of the start of the project to reform the transport of patients announced by the Prime Minister, François Bayrou. “Waiting for concrete measures, taxis have decided to extend their mobilization. Determined, the profession maintains the mobilization centers and continues the organization of shares and operations of snail,” said the inter -union in a statement published on Saturday night to Sunday.
At the end of a meeting with the drivers representatives, François Bayroun announced on Saturday night the Tuesday review of the agreement that establishes a unification of prices for the transport of patients, as well as a work on compliance with the rules of VTC platforms, two main claims of taxis. “It is decided on the ground”
“The federations have received a real welcome from the Prime Minister. There are things that will be put on the table. But in the meantime, the drivers want to maintain the pressure and be cautious. They are waiting to see the monitoring of the advertisements,” said Dominique Buisson, the National Taxi Federation (FNDT). “At the moment, there is no blockade planned this Sunday in Roland-Garros or elsewhere (stations, airports), but it can change. It is decided in the field,” he added.
Taxis drivers have mobilized for a week against an agreement that will modify their remuneration for the transport of patients. The new system intends to rest in a treatment of 13 euros per health insurance, then a kilometer rate. It is designed to deter emptiness feedback or waiting times too long. This price must go into force on October 1. The objective is to limit the growth of health transportation that reached 6.74 billion euros in 2024, including 3.07 billion for approved taxis (a 45% jump since 2019).
However, the planned reexamination in the coming weeks must be “without changing the application date” of the text and the objective in terms of savings, said François Bayrou.
