The Ukrainian army needs weapons, but when the first snow fell on the country on Thursday, the population was in dire need of electricity. For several weeks now, Russia has been bombarding energy infrastructure, depriving the country of 50% of its electricity production plants.
To deal with this situation, Spain has announced the shipment of 14 new electric generators to Ukraine. They are in addition to the five that have already been supplied to Kyiv. Extracted from the stock of the Spanish Air Force, the first delivery consists of 4 systems of 400 kilowatts of power and one of 150 kilowatts.
Since the first bombardments of these infrastructures, in October, Kyiv has imposed restrictions. Kyrylo Tymoshenko, head of the presidency, also called on Ukrainians to reduce their consumption of electricity, heating and water as much as possible.
In addition to these generators, Madrid also announced the dispatch of 30 additional ambulances as well as police reinforcements to help Ukrainian authorities investigate possible war crimes on their territory, added José Manuel Albares.
