Long -term rental: the Czech government announced on Wednesday that it would extend the lease contract of 12 flu hunting aircraft until 2035, and that would buy 48 armored vehicles of several manufacturers.
In 2023, a year after the invasion of Ukraine for Russia, Prague decided to buy 35 F-35 combat aircraft made in the United States for $ 6.5 billion, whose delivery is scheduled for 2035.
The Czech ministry said that Prague would pay 6,012 billion Swedish crowns (544 million euros) “for the lease of the 12 flu hunters, their maintenance and training of the pilots.”
Two less devices
The Czech Republic revives the rental contract and goes from 14 to 12 aircraft, including 10 single and two robber, to generate additional savings. The anterior lease extension, approved in 2014, would expire in 2027.
These ads occur, while the NATO summit in The Hague has approved an increase in defense expenses of its members to 5% of its Gross Domestic Product by 2035.
The Ministry also indicated that it would buy 24 titus armored vehicles manufactured by Nexter in France and by the local Tatra truck manufacturer, as well as 24 Mars armored vehicles.
The Titus agreement, including driving training, is estimated at four billion Czech crowns (around 162 million euros).
