The European Union is “ready to conclude an agreement” with the United States on customs duties, said the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen, before a crucial negotiation meeting on Thursday. The European Commerce, Maros Sefcovic, travels to Washington, where he must comply with his American counterparts to find a commercial agreement before the deadline of July 9 established by Donald Trump.
At the beginning of the week, Bloomberg said that the EU was ready, to avoid 50%customs tasks, to accept a commercial agreement with 10%surcharges, provided that certain sectors benefit from a lower rate, in this case the car parts and spare parts, steel and aluminum, but also pharmacists, alcohol, semiconductors and commercial aviation.
