According to the analysis carried out by the consumer association, in almost 1,000 electronic commerce offers, 85 % of the promotions shown are not shown with the regulations and “report the simple price of comparison”, etc.
UFC -quir also announced in its press release to confiscate the European Commission against “the lack of reaction of the authorities” on the issue of false promotions. Reduced prices that deceive consumers
The European European Directive of European, in force for three years, is not always respected, as illustrated by the fine of 40 million euros inflicted by the DGCCRF in Shein last week, recalls the UFC-QQ press release. In fact, many promotions are always calculated reductions at a “comparison” price.
Presented in several titles, such as “recommended sale price”, “originally”, “old price”, “average market price” or even “price provided by the seller”, these denominations, as varied as obsolete, confusion and do not light the consumer at all, denounces the choice of UFC -which in its press release.
The UFC Choisir -qe has already warned about this practice of online merchants in 2023, recalls. In its study on 6,586 advertisements, two years ago, the association revealed that only 3.4% of online promotions were real reductions according to the directive “Omnibus” and that in 96.6% of the cases, the discounts shown were based on arbitrary comparison prices, inducing the consumer in error.
