Air India Boeing 787 Crash: the pilots reject the first conclusions about the accident

The Indian Line Pilot Association has rejected the preliminary results of the Air India Boeing 787 accident, believing that the investigations presumed the responsibility of the pilots.

Two associations of the pilots of the Indian line strongly rejected the preliminary results of research on the accident Air India Boeing 787 on June 12 in the northeast of India, which suggests the possibility of human error.

In a first report published this Saturday, July 12, the Indian Research Office on Air Accidents (AAIB) revealed that the kerosene diet of the two aircraft reactors had been interrupted just after its takeoff from Ahmedabad.

This switch change caused a sudden loss of power of the two plane engines, which fell into buildings near the airport causing 260 dead.

“Very disturbed by these speculation”

The AAIB document does not obtain any conclusion or responsibility for the moment. The cabin conversations recorder said that one of the pilots asked the other “why he cut the fuel food” and that the latter replied “that he did not,” said the AAIB.

The researchers did not publish the exact transcription of their dialogue.

The Alpa, which claims 800 members, lamented the “secret” that surrounds the investigation and regretted not being associated with it as “observer.”

Another organization, the Association of Indian Commercial Pilots (ICPA), has declared “very disturbed by these speculations (…) in particular those that infused the idea of a pilot’s suicide.”

“Such hypothesis is based on the current state of the investigation,” the ICPA continued to reaction to the words of experts who suggest that the disaster could be the fruit of a pilot’s suicide.

The aerial disaster, the deadliest since 2014 in the world, caused the death of 241 passengers and members of the Boeing 787 crew, as well as 19 people on the ground. A passenger survived miraculously.
