“I have not seen that in our proposals … is not in the plan”: Has the government advanced too much about the monetization of the fifth week of license?

Would the Minister of Labor and Employment have said too much about government intentions? Since the presentation of the public finance recovery plan of François Bayrou on Tuesday, July 15, several measures have generated criticism from all parties.

Like the almost generalized white year to all the budgets of the ministries, excluding the defense, but also this idea, suggested by Astrid Panosyan -Bouvet, to monetize the fifth week of paid vacation.

He reinterrogated on this issue a little later, Bercy’s tenant invited unions and employers to negotiate the measures that allow working more.

If we adhere to the summary of the measures announced by the Head of Government on Tuesday, in fact, any monetization of the fifth week of paid license is mentioned. However, François Bayrou announced this day that he was going to offer social partners to open negotiations on unemployment insurance and labor law, particularly to “facilitate recruitments” and “increase job offers.”

It was following these ads that the Minister of Labor and Employment spoke, during this same press conference, that “the possibility of monetizing the fifth week of paid license” would be part of the clues that were going to be put on the table.

“Horror museum”

Even so, evil seems to be made. This proposal erred the unions, so that the leader of the CFDT, Marylise Léon, considered this Thursday morning in France Inter, which monetizing the fifth week of vacations paid is “of the Museum of Horrors” of the Government’s Ideas. For his part, Economy Minister Eric Lombard referred to the “dialogue” with social partners on this track.

The negotiations already promise to be storm: “Today, the number one is the issue of purchasing power, but it does not depend on the employees themselves pay a little more space for the maneuver to complete the ends of the end of their vacation,” he insisted on the CFDT file.
