The Greek Labor Ministry on Tuesday work outdoors in several regions due to temperatures that could reach 43 ° C in the country.
Due to “particularly high temperatures and discomfort levels”, outdoor work was prohibited on Tuesday from 12 noon to 5 pm in many regions, the Ministry announced in a statement.
The suspension of outdoor work concerns in private construction sites and public works, naval reparation areas, as well as delivery services in several regions, including athens and tourist destinations, such as the Ionoas and Rhodes Islands (southeast).
New obligations in France
It is expected that the heat wave that began on Monday will last until Sunday, according to the country’s weather service (Emy).
Temperatures could reach 40 ° C in Athens and Salon on Tuesday, with planned 43 ° C peaks in the center of Greece.
On Thursday, the capital could register a maximum temperature of 41 ° C, Emy said.
In France, a decree applied since July 1 requires employers for workers protection provisions, graduated in accordance with the surveillance levels established by Météo-France.
This decree requires some provisions to “adapt the schedules, suspend painful tasks during the warmest hours, better adjust rest periods.”
