Good news in the heart of summer. Several million French will receive a reimbursement of the tax administration on Friday. More specifically, this refund will take place “in most cases on July 25 or August 1,” said the General Directorate of Public Finance (DGFIP).
Several situations can lead to reimbursement. For example, when a taxpayer did not inform the imposing of a drop in income in 2024. In other words: he paid too much imposed last year. The administration could realize it thanks to the declaration of complemented income last spring and, therefore, will reimburse the excess payment. In the same way, taxpayers who have not declared the birth of a child right to an additional action will be entitled to reimbursement.
Automatic transfer
Another scenario: taxpayers who made expenses in 2024 giving the right to tax reductions or credits (donations, home employment expenses, child care, etc.). They can also claim a refund that will take into account, if necessary, the progress already collected in January 2025.
No approach to benefit from reimbursement is necessary. This will be automatically operated by bank transfer with the title “Income income”. If the administration is not aware of the bank data, a check will be sent directly to your home in the coming weeks.
Last year, more than 15 million homes could benefit from a reimbursement for an average amount of 908 euros.
