A historical record: the French deposited almost 98 billion euros in their life insurance in 2025

French savers, pressured to save by the uncertain economic climate, presented 97.8 billion euros in their life insurance contracts in the first half, according to the data published Thursday by the insurers of France.

The French adapt their savings habits. While the Livret A rate is preparing to fall for the second time in 2025, Savers hastened to life insurance.

Since the beginning of the year, the French have deposited about 97.8 billion euros in life insurance, according to an insurers report. A level never reached. These deposits show an increase of 5,100 million euros, or 5% more in a year.

When subtracting the benefits paid by insurers during the period, the balance between deposits and withdrawals amounts to 26.6 billion euros between January and June, the high level most reached since 2010.

Dynamics refers to both euros in euros (+3 %) and in account units (UC) (+9 %). The participation of UC contributions is 41 % in June and 38 % in the first half of the year, identical to that registered throughout the year 2024 (38 %).

In June 2025, life insurance contributions amounted to 17.1 billion euros, an increase of +18% compared to June 2024.
