It is an “unprecedented” situation. The spokeswoman of the Foreign Ministry of the Ministry of Russians, Maria Zakharova, does not put words when talking about the international sanctions applied against Russia.
The European Union voted a 18th package of sanctions against Russia in mid -July, which provides a drop in the price of Russian crude oil. Donald Trump threatened Moscow to apply customs duties and other measures next week, if Vladimir Putin persisted in continuing the war in Ukraine.
“We know how to resist”
For Maria Zakharova, these retaliation measures are not inevitable: “We know how to resist these sanctions”, without providing more details about the Russian strategy against Western sanctions.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov says nothing more, when he declares that “we have already developed some immunity in this regard, and we continue to take note of all the statements that come from President Trump and other international representatives on this issue.”
Therefore, the Russian government refutes any impact on its economy: “We have lived for a long time with a large number of sanctions, our economy works with a large number of restrictions,” said Kremlin spokesman.
To overcome international sanctions, Russia has developed relations with “allied” countries such as China or Iran, but also with “satellite” countries such as Kazakhstan.
