Mexico and Canada want to expand their economic cooperation against the customs surcharge imposed by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, Mexican president Claudia Sheinbaum said Wednesday.
Mexico, the United States and Canada are partners in the Free Trade Agreement T-MEC, which Donald Trump wishes to renegotiate because he considers him harmful to US interests.
Claudia Sheinbaum said this meeting was a “preparatory meeting” before visiting the Canadian Prime Minister, Mark Carney, whose date is not yet defined.

Donald Trump justifies customs surcharges towards his two partners who say they are not doing enough to contain irregular migration and fentanyl traffic in the United States.
The Republican President recounted on August 1 from 25% to 35% of Canadian products.
It postponed 90 days, until the end of October, the taxes of the customs tasks of 30% in Mexico that already suffers the surcharge imposed against the automotive and steel sectors.
