The organization of oil exporting countries (OPEC) has maintained its growth forecasts for global oil demand by 2025 and slightly reviewed up 2026, driven by the growth of the global economy, while uncertainty is linked to US customs tasks.
The organization estimates that demand in black gold should increase by 1.3 million barrels per day (MB/J) by 2025 and 1.4 MB/D in 2026, to establish respectively at 105.1 MB/Dy 106.5 MB/D, she indicates on Tuesday in her monthly relationship that reassess her projections according to the developments in the conjuncture.
3.1% global growth in 2026
In 2026, the global oil demand should grow 1.4 MB/D, an increase of 0.1 mb/d compared to the evaluation last month, “thanks to a sustained economic activity,” he added.
It emphasizes that “global economic growth forecasts for 2025 are slightly reviewed up, to 3.0%, while 2026 remain at a robust level of 3.1%.”
According to the OPEC, the demand in 2025 must be drawn by countries that are not OCD, for approximately +1.2 MB/D, especially in India and China, against 0.1 MB/D for the OECD member countries, which mainly brings together developed countries.
In 2026, the increase in global oil demand must be 1.2 MB/D outside the OECD and approximately 0.2 MB/D in the OECD area.
